    X\u00e0tiva, with its rich history and vibrant cultural legacy, is a destination that combines past and present in a unique way.<\/strong> Although it is a modest-sized city, with less than 30,000 inhabitants, X\u00e0tiva has been the scene of key historical moments<\/strong> that marked the Iberian Peninsula, as well as being the birthplace of the Borja Popes<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    We start the day with a visit to the impressive Castle of X\u00e0tiva,<\/strong> located at the top of the mountain. We recommend arriving by car, taxi or small train, as the walk up takes about an hour*<\/span>. From its walls, you'll enjoy spectacular views and travel through more than 3,000 years of history<\/strong>, its connection to Hannibal Barca<\/strong>, the Reconquest led by King James I<\/strong> and the dungeons<\/strong> used as a state prison.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    11:30 h - The old Town and the Thousand Fountains<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Next, we will enter the painteresque old town of X\u00e0tiva<\/strong>, famous for its more than 1,000 fountains.<\/strong> We will start at the Lion Fountain<\/strong> and head to the Collegiate Basilica of Santa Mar\u00eda<\/strong>, one of the largest churches in Spain, where we will discover the history of the Borgia Popes<\/strong>. We will continue our tour to the Casa de l'Ensenyan\u00e7a<\/strong>, the Museum of Fine Arts<\/strong>, where we will learn about the devastation of X\u00e0tiva in 1707 during the War of Succession<\/strong>, through the famous painting of King Philip V.<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The tour ends at 13:30, but you can take the opportunity to enjoy the delicious local cuisine<\/strong>, such as baked rice and typical sweets like the arnad\u00ed<\/strong> or the almoix\u00e0vena<\/strong>. If you decide to stay, the return journey is at your own expense, with direct train options to Valencia.<\/p>

        • If you prefer to return to Valencia<\/strong> for lunch, the estimated arrival time is 14:30 hrs.<\/li><\/ul>
